Energy Drinks – All About Them
12 Oct 2008

Energy Shots are essentially beverages which help in providing more energy to the body than any other drink The amount of calories in such drinks is generally very low and hence they are very healthy in their nature .It has been clinically tested and proved that such drinks contain many components which help in increasing the level of aware ness of a person and also aid in proper physical activity.
These energy shots produced by ‘Mad Dog Energy’ are a specially designed group of drinks which help in providing ‘clean’ energy to the body which lasts for about six-hours. They are carefully designed in order to provide the best result. Normally used by athletes and people engaged in strenuous physical activities, these drinks do not contain any calories or carbohydrates and are hence preferred largely by the masses. They come in various flavors like the ‘fruit punch’, ‘pomma berry’ etc.
There have been many researches which have been conducted to determine the effects of the ingredients of such drinks on the human physiology. And there has been significant evidence to prove that they aid in significantly increasing the level of mental ‘alertness’ as well as enhance the cognition performance. They have been found to elevate upper body muscle power to significant levels. Also, since these energy shots are deficient in caffeine, there are no ‘reversal caffeine’ withdrawal symptoms in regard to muscle and performance.
There is however significant side-effects associated with such energy drinks. There may be significant caffeine intake due to over dosage which may lead to complications. There may be certain stimulants in the drinks like ‘ginseng’ which synergisesthe effects of caffeine, thus making a particular drink lethal. Significant adverse reactions due to caffeine overdose are ‘irritability’, ‘sleeplessness’, ‘increased urination’, etc. Also important is the level of glucose in a drink which has to be adequately maintained. The level thus has to be maintained at a 6% to 7% levels. This is in order to allow an increase in the rate of absorption and inhibit crash in the sugar levels in the body.
